Terms of Service

Overbuild is a public web directory that sells sponsored placements. Advertisers pay to have a destination listed; the amount paid determines how prominently that listing is displayed, both in its position on the board and in the height of its building on the map. Placement is delivered immediately on successful payment and is permanent.

This is an advertising service. It is not a game, a contest, a sweepstake, an auction, or an investment product.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be authorised to advertise the destination you submit — either you own it or you have permission from whoever does.
• You must not be in a country subject to sanctions that would make the transaction unlawful.

• Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record. Your contract for the payment itself is with them, and their terms apply to it.
• We never see or store your card details. We store the amount, a payment reference, and the email you gave at checkout so we can send a receipt.
• Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are calculated and remitted by the payment provider where applicable.
• Minimum $1, no maximum. Payments against the same destination accumulate.

Placements are delivered instantly and permanently, so they are non-refundable once published — except in the cases below, where we refund in full and without argument.

We will refund you in full if:

• We remove your listing. If we take a listing down for breaking the Rules, or for any reason of our own, we refund what you paid for it.
• The placement never published. If you were charged and no listing appeared, that is our failure — tell us and we will refund it.
• You were charged twice for the same thing, or charged an amount you did not authorise.
• The service closes. If we shut Overbuild down, we refund placements bought in the preceding 30 days.

There is nothing to cancel, because there is no subscription and no recurring charge — every payment is one-off.

To request a refund, email hello@overbuild.lol from the address you paid with, within 30 days. We aim to respond within two business days.

• You keep ownership of your name, logo and destination. You grant us permission to display them on overbuild.lol and in screenshots or posts promoting the site, for as long as the listing exists.
• You are responsible for what is at your destination, and for it complying with the law wherever it is accessible.
• Marks shown on a listing are fetched automatically from the destination itself. If you would rather we did not display yours, email us and we will remove it.

We may remove any listing at any time, with or without reason, and we will refund it when we do. In practice we remove listings that break the Rules, that become malicious after publication, or that we are legally required to remove.

A removed listing does not free its plot for resale unless the removal was our decision rather than yours.

A placement confers no ownership of anything, digital or otherwise. It is not property, not an asset, not a security, and not transferable or resellable. It carries no prize, no payout, and no element of chance. It does not entitle you to any share of revenue or to any say in how the site is run.

The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uptime, traffic, click volume, sales, or any particular result from a placement. Visit counts shown on the site are our own best-effort measurement and are not audited.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update these terms. Placements already bought keep the terms they were bought under, and material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
